Thanks to Mike Antonucci, here’s an excellent illustration of what it looks like when a mass of fellow ideologists teem like lemmings, over the Cliffs of Mindlessness and into the Sea of Outrage, in this case all because somebody rallied the troops based on the least generous interpretation of some poor content editor’s omission.

Update: Mr. Casey counters Mr. Antonucci’s dissection of Mr. Casey’s case (strangely — or perhaps not — by not actually countering it at all) here (scroll down).

Update: Mr. Antonucci responds here.

By the way, Mr. Moore’s Casey’s post is must-read. Be sure to pack your hankie! It’s got everything. Hate. Revenge. Bad men (John Stossel, Mr. Antonucci). Good men (Mr. Casey). No beautifulest ladies, but oh well. Snakes (Disney execs). Spiders (Google). Beasts of all natures and descriptions (who can forget for a moment those vicious and ongoing attacks upon Public Education!). Pain (Disney’s Soviet-style excision of Mr. Casey from their website hurt Mr. Casey deeply, you understand). Death (alas, poor American Teacher Awards, we knew you well!). Brave men man. Coward men (Mr. Stossel, Mr. Antonucci, Disney execs). Lies (corporate, natch). Truths (Mr. Casey’s, natch). Passion (for teaching, of course; I think that’s the only real kind, don’t you?).

Miracles yet to come.

  1. Oh! That’s a fun read! :) Thanks.
