Thanks, Rolfe, for reminding us about An Ant on the Internet, which we’d intended to include under Resources (and now have done).
Eleshiva writes about living on two calendars, in “When Hannukah Comes (Early) Right on Time.”
Law professor and academic economist David Friedman has just written a two-part post on “Home Unschooling”:
HT: COD
In Alasandra’s Homeschool Blog Awards, I mean.
Voting starts today and ends December 31.
Thanks to Mike Antonucci, here’s an excellent illustration of what it looks like when a mass of fellow ideologists teem like lemmings, over the Cliffs of Mindlessness and into the Sea of Outrage, in this case all because somebody rallied the troops based on the least generous interpretation of some poor content editor’s omission.
Update: Mr. Casey counters Mr. Antonucci’s dissection of Mr. Casey’s case (strangely — or perhaps not — by not actually countering it at all) here (scroll down).
Update: Mr. Antonucci responds here.
By the way, Mr. Moore’s Casey’s post is must-read. Be sure to pack your hankie! It’s got everything. Hate. Revenge. Bad men (John Stossel, Mr. Antonucci). Good men (Mr. Casey). No beautifulest ladies, but oh well. Snakes (Disney execs). Spiders (Google). Beasts of all natures and descriptions (who can forget for a moment those vicious and ongoing attacks upon Public Education!). Pain (Disney’s Soviet-style excision of Mr. Casey from their website hurt Mr. Casey deeply, you understand). Death (alas, poor American Teacher Awards, we knew you well!). Brave men man. Coward men (Mr. Stossel, Mr. Antonucci, Disney execs). Lies (corporate, natch). Truths (Mr. Casey’s, natch). Passion (for teaching, of course; I think that’s the only real kind, don’t you?).
Miracles yet to come.
It’s us. Shoot, you were actually one of the first ones in. I distinctly remember doing a copy/paste on “gnothi seauton” (for the hover text).
I probably hit Cancel instead of Save. Or Delete instead of Edit. Or … well, anyway, you’re back in now.
Welcome to The Home Education Blog Blog.
Our plan is to embark on a tour of the wide, wide world of homeschooling-related blogging, while posting semi-regular dispatches along the way.
Our aim is to compile a blogroll that showcases the diversity of home educating families. We’ve started by listing a few old favorites. We’ll be including informational sites and resources as well.
Got a suggested destination in mind? Do tell!
